after a flood of posts last tuesday..
i ran outta things to say x)
but seeing that a week has almost past since i last posted, here's smth for you to tink about and erm haha enlighten me if you can x)
well i was thinking about it.
let's go through this hypothetically (:
person A and person B are both Christians. say they're both actively serving God and loves God. now, A and B are tangled in a sticky situation against each other. and in the situation, they both start claiming God's promise that if God iz with them, who can be against them; and that the Holy Spirit iz with them to help them. BUT, problem iz God being constant in both A and B. and yet, A and B are against each other. who wins? who will God side?
does it go to the one who's stronger in faith?
or the one who wants it more? and fights for it more?
or iz the coin tossed and done according to chance?
so to the other, God did not show Himself true to him? but which God iz faithful all the time.. so the only person to fault iz the person himself? so they didnt ask enough and didnt fight for it enough? that's what i'm leaning towards now though.. hmmm.

if you're wondering why i suddenly thought of this, i suddenly outta the blue remembered an incident back in sec4 badminton. juz a few matches prior to my knee injury. and i rem vividly it was a match against PL x) we were almost neck to neck. and PL cheered that girl on with "the Lord's with you!". but.. the Lord's with me too! i wonder who got the win in the end...
i lost that time, but this time i will ask and fight to win.
oh, one more thing.

I'm intrigued.
I tried reading a bit, and most of the examples I can find with regards to finding victory in Christ relates to war between nations, where 1 believes in Christ and 1 doesn't (if you know of 1 between 2 'Christian' nations its worth a look), otherwise it refers to spiritual warfare. In the new testament, we are called to be united in one body, for victory against the enemy. So it seems that this promise has been used a little too 'loosely' (for lack of a better word). All mention of enemy refers to things that oppose God (devil). In fact, it is clearly written that if we rebuke a fellow brother/sister in Christ, we are not to treat him/her as an enemy (2 Thessalonians 3 verse something).
That is not to say, however, that when you go up against a non believer you'll DEFINITELY win them. If so, every successful person in every area would be a Christian.
So Christian vs Christian? God loves you both and He won't take sides. Whatever works out to be your path to destiny will be the one that happens. :D

anyways, juz a little correction: In going up against non-Christians, every successful person in every area SHOULD be a Christian. it should be but unfortunately not every Christian has fully claimed the promises of God and stepped up from being a weird Christian to being an effective and relevant Christian (:
but yeah, back to the point, though i'm still curious to who will stand the advantage, i guess it's still necessary to love our "enemies". not that in this case, because no i dun bear any grudges against that person. i guess the one who fails might be the one who veers off track from God's Words.? HMM
This came to me in the bath and I just decided to go read a little bit more before replying :)
Should it really be? Is it God's plan to make all Christians successful? I know strong Christians who claim the promises consistently, but still fall short. Maybe God wants to teach him something else, or wants to bless some other area of his life. We can ask, but if it isn't meant to be ours, He won't give it?
When Jesus died for us, He died for every single person; believers, non-believers, believers of other faiths.. He has plans for everyone, He loves everyone. Which is why I say we're only victorious against our enemies, but against another Christian? I'm not sure if the amount of faith and spiritual discipline is a deciding factor. Would seem a little.. biased? Crap can't find a word to describe it. :P
eh, i tink you got me wrong. when you said 'would be', that meant that they already are. in saying 'should be', it means that Christians were suppose to be but are not, well not all. but in spite of it, i guess the main issue iz not to become proud and haughty? in humility we ask what we need(not want), not for solely our benefit but to benefit others as well, ask and you shall receive? Matt7:7?
this iz getting a little confusing and off track. maybe i shall not probe further. yupp (: love your enemies as yourself (: it's all about Christ-likeness i guess? in His timing through His Eyes.
Its better if the answer comes from Him :D
Andand yes! Humility. But He's so awesome that He provides not just for our needs, but for our wants too! "The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in WANT." :D
well so long our wants are in line with what He wants for us! den will He grant us the desires of our hearts! so yeah, comes down to really getting your heart in line with His (: thanks anyway kenuff! x)
